Yannick Ovolo Engonga

Yannick Ovono is Rabi Institute for Development Studies CEO and Mandela Institute for Development Studies Scholar, passionate about education, leadership, media, politics, and youth development in the continent of Africa. He holds an MSc in journalism from the University of Istanbul, and BA degree in economics from the Istanbul academy of science, with 5 years of work experience in various positions both in the media industry and Academia. 

His involved in sharing his experience about the role of scientific research in the societies and our environment for development, in particular in protecting human rights, but also on issues of well-being with the general public. 

Yannick has worked as a political analyst on democratic questions, both on the ground and the point of View of audiovisual communication, through a philosophical approach. 

After graduating from journalism and mediation in science, Yannick has written articles for various newspapers and magazines, which won him a first contract with the editorial board of the international organization of Francophonie. 

Currently, he works closely with Mandela Institute for Development Studies, through contributing to reports and documentaries that promote participation of young people in political, economic and society issues. As a journalist, author, director and lecturer, he collaborates with universities, multimedia communication agencies and other companies dedicated to research and innovation.
