Oliver Jolezya Hasimuna

Oliver Jolezya Hasimuna is an aquaculturist in Zambia’s Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock. He currently works at the National Aquaculture Research and Development Centre in Kitwe. He holds a BSc in Fisheries and Aquaculture from the Copperbelt University in Zambia. He also holds a Diploma in Fisheries Science from the University of Zambia. Since January 2019, he has offered consultancy and training services in the areas of aquaculture and fisheries by different companies and communities in Zambia. As a researcher in fisheries and aquaculture, Hasimuna’s areas of interest includes biodiversity conservation, fish anesthetics, fish post-harvest, fish nutrition, fish breeding and genetics, fish diseases, fish pond management, cage aquaculture and fisheries management. His hobbies are outreach/community service and youth mentorship in STEM. He strongly believes that the development of any nation lies on investment in STEM.
