Kevin Dzobo is a senior research scientist at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and a Lecturer at the University of Cape Town, Cape Town, South Africa. Kevin is a Next Einstein Fellow and a member of the NEF Community of Scientists. Kevin is an Associate Editor of Biomedical Research and Therapy journal and an editorial member of Annals of Stem Cell Research and Therapy. Kevin is also a reviewer for many top journals including Scientific Reports and Biology Open. In 2017, Kevin was elected the founding vice president of African Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society, with the responsibility of growing a strong network of African scientists and also foster collaboration among the African scientists and the rest of the world in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

Kevin’s research interests are in cancer, drug discovery and stem cells. He is also interested in developing viable approaches to differentiate stem cells into tissue lineage-specific cells in a controlled manner for regenerative medicine applications. Kevin holds a BSc Honors in Biochemistry, obtained with a Distinction, from the University of Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe. He also holds an MSc in Molecular and Cell Biology and a PhD in Medical Biochemistry, both from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

Kevin has published extensively and has supervised many postgraduate students. Kevin has established collaborations with world class scientists working at top universities. Kevin has presented his work at many national and international meetings, culminating in him being profiled in many international news articles. Kevin is passionate about developing science on the African continent as he believes this will go a long way in enabling Africans to solve their health challenges.
