Following this, he taught mathematics to high school students for a year, and then completed his PhD in physics at McGill University, Canada, in 2008. There after he joined UNISWA as a Lecturer at the Physics Department. He spent 2012/13 at Wayne State University, USA, as a postdoctoral fellow. His research interest mainly focuses on theoretical/computational physics with applications in two-dimensional crystals and dynamics of systems out of equilibrium including active matter. He is also part of the Community of Scientists for the Next Einstein Forum (NEF) having served as the NEF Ambassador for eSwatini in a two year term from 2016 to 2017.
