Sicelo Dube champions STEM education, innovation and entrepreneurship, and is currently working as junior science teacher and senior lab technician at Hellenic Academy. She is the founder of LEC Biotec, a company she started at the age of 23, which manufactures and distributes lab equipment and chemicals to schools—true to its motto “growing scientists for the future generation”. Sicelo is the president of the Zimbabwe Science Laboratory Technicians Trust and also co-founder of Elevate Trust. In all her work Sicelo has a special attention on the girl child, aiming for gender parity in STEM fields. Her qualifications include an MBA from the University of Gloucestershire, an MSc in Applied Microbiology & Biotechnology from NUST (Zimbabwe), a BSc in Biological Science and Biochemistry from the University of Zimbabwe, in addition to a PDM in HIV/AIDS from the University of Stellenbosch, and Certificates in Entrepreneurship from Drake University, and Bio-Innovations and Entrepreneurship from Stanford University.
