Emmanuel Nepolo is a health professional educator and research scientist in Namibia. He currently serves as Senior Lecturer and Head of Department at a National School of Medicine, University of Namibia. He held professional fellowships at some of the world-renowned institutions, namely the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Munich Germany; the British Columbia Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS, Vancouver, Canada; the International Center for Public Policy, Georgia State University, Atlanta USA; and the Cardiff University’s School of Medicine, Wales. He is also an alumnus of Mandela Washington Fellowship 2019. His research focus on the mechanisms of development and spread of resistance mycobacterium Tuberculosis strains using sequencing technology, to provide data on resistance patterns and mechanisms of circulating Mtbc strains in high incidence settings to determine outbreaks of highly transmissible M/XDR TB strains, as well as molecular resistance predictions to allow for individualized therapeutic regimens for the effective treatment of M/XDR TB cases.
