Amna Abdalla Mohammed Khalid

Sudan

Dr. Amna Abdallah is currently a postdoctoral researcher in Biophysics group, Third Institute of Physics at Georg August University, Germany. She studied Physics at Sudan University of Science and Technology.

She worked at SUST as teaching assistance for about three years after her bachelor’s degree. Subsequently, Amna received scholarship from Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) to join postgraduate diploma program in general Physics followed by second scholarship to attend the postgraduate diploma in Condensed Matter Physics. In 2016, she obtained her PhD from the Doctoral School of Nanotechnology at Trieste University, Italy.

Over the last six years, Amna’s research focused on fundamental biophysical studies of various molecular motors that play critical roles in cell division. Those molecular motors are highly expressed in cancer cells which make them potential candidates for cancer biomarker
(diagnosis) and cancer therapies.

Her research interest is in the field of soft matter physics and biophysics, statistical physics, mechanics and regulation of molecular motors and Rheology of biological networks.
