The Next Einstein Forum is setting up a U.S.$1 million fund to encourage scientific breakthroughs in Africa. This comes after the winners of the NEF Challenge of Invention to Innovation (Ci2i). The winners include; cameroonian medical doctor Conrad Tankou who won the organisation’s top health award for his invention of a portable digital microscope that connects to a smartphone to remotely scan for cervical cancers, Rachel Sibande, Climate Smart Innovations, she is generating electricity from maize cobs and Abdoulaye Banire Diallo, in deep tech category creating MIMsOmic platform to leverage artificial intelligence. Read more
