Tesfamichael Semere is a researcher and lecturer at Hamelmalo Agricultural College (HAC), the leading institute of higher education in the field of Agricultural Sciences, Eritrea. Tesfamichael holds a B.Sc. in Plant Science from the University of Asmara, Eritrea and after completed undergraduate study, he was selected as research and graduate assistant at HAC and worked for six years. Then he awarded a scholarship to pursue his MSc. funded by African Development Bank through the National Board of Higher Education, Eritrea. He holds a M.Sc. in Plant Breeding from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Kenya.
Tesfamichael also worked as a volunteer internship at Molecular and Genomic laboratory at ICRISAT, East and Southern Africa, Kenya and recently worked as a Research Associate at the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) headquartered in Nairobi. He is focused in science and technology and believes technologies bring change in life of human being and ecological sustainability. Currently, he is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Biotechnology Research in JKUAT and is motivated to pursue his career in biotechnology related fields in order to contribute toward the achievement of regional and global food and nutrition security.
