Sophia Yusuf Abeid

Sophia Yusuf Abeid is an electronics and telecoms engineer, with a degree from St. Joseph University’s College of Engineering and Technology in Tanzania. She is currently working for Vodacom Tanzania as a graduate trainee engineer. She is the co- founder of “Blueprint Innovations” that delivers digital solutions. Abeid is known for her innovation “File Tracking System” (FTS), that easily locates files for large organizations. She has been awarded first place for FTS in an exhibition organized by St. Joseph University out of 300 projects that contested. She was also the youngest awardee of Next Einstein Forum’s Africa Science Week 2018 in Tanzania for women emerging in STEM. In 2019 she received the “Malkia wa Nguvu” award in the category of science and technology from Clouds Media group. She is passionate about getting more girls into STEM.
