Salma Bougarrani

Salma Bougarrani, holds a PhD in Environment and Water Treatment from the Faculty of Sciences at Rabat. In 2014, thanks the Confucius Institute Scholarship, she travelled to Beijing and worked as a Project Manager on “Women in Water Field” project at Peking International University. In 2015, she joined the Institute of Chemical Technology, Leipzig University, Germany, as a researcher in the synthesis of a new eco-innovative materials for wastewater treatment. She has been involved in several international projects, in collaboration with teams from Malatya University (Turkey) and NIBEC Institute (Northern Ireland), she also contributed to the organization of several international conferences and workshops in the field of women in science, water and environment. She is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), and co-founder and manager of Green WATECH, a social enterprise. In recognition of her excellent research and social entrepreneurship achievements, she has received other scholarships, numerous awards and prizes in Africa, Asia and in Europe.
