DRC
Josephine Ndeze Uwase, a winner of Miss Geek 2019, is a creative student in computer science in Goma, DRC, and ambitions to become a first-class engineer in artificial intelligence. She emerged as the winner of Miss Geek Africa 2019 thanks to her project to reduce maternal mortality rate, in the rural Congo, using cell-phone technologies. She aims to be a role-model for young African girls interested in science and technology and to bring her young energy to promoting science in the DRC. In 2019 she gained a degree in science at Institut Supérieur de l’Informatique et de Gestion, in Goma, DRC, and hopes to finish her Bachelor of Science degree at the same institution in 2021.
