Ibrahim Sidi Zakari has over eight years of experience nationally and internationally in e-commerce, government, and academia.

Currently, Ibrahim is serving as Assistant Professor at Abdou Moumouni University, where he is taking a lead role in managing data science projects. Ibrahim’s research interests include the quality of public expenditure, dynamics of social classes, air and water pollution, epidemiology, global citizenship and open data.

He has served as a data analyst and modeler at the Division of Economic Policy and Poverty of the Center for Analysis and Prospective in Development (CAPED -Niger).

He holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from Cadi Ayyad University in Morocco, and Lille 1 University, France, where he focused on high-dimensional penalized quantile regression.

Ibrahim invented Tabtakey, a computer keyboard integrating a mathematical algorithm for searching dates in the Gregorian calendar.

He is a member of the Global Young Academy and is the inaugural Next Einstein Forum’s Ambassador for promoting equal access to education and more public investment for STEM in Niger.

In December 2017, he won the West African regional competition (vote of the public award) of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie(AUF) for his innovation in pedagogy entitled IAG-CoRECE.

As a Mandela Washington Fellow, he is currently creating a local network for science advice to government and is pursuing collaboration towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and African Union’s Agenda 2063.
