The 2013-2014 World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Competitiveness evaluated the competitiveness of 148 economies around the globe. Sub-Saharan Africa countries showed great disparity in their productivity and prosperity in the ranking. The first Sub-Saharan Africa country was Mauritius emerging at position 45th followed by South Africa, Rwanda, Seychelles and Botswana emerging at 53rd, 66th, 80th, and 90th positions respectively.
