Mr. Thierry Zomahoun, Chair and Founder of the Next Einstein Forum (NEF) and CEO and President of the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS), was one of four keynote speakers at the 2015 Columbia University African Economic Forum (AEF). Mr. Zomahoun was joined by Tanzania’s former Prime Minister, His Excellency Fredrick Sumaye, Professor Mthuli Ncube (pictured with Mr. Zomahoun above), and Mr. Aeneas Chuma.
On Mr. Zomahoun’s speech, the Columbia AEF Co-Chair Bukelile Dube had this to say: “The talk on ‘Africa’s Transformation through Innovation’ was the most well attended of the conference. Our faculty, staff, students and guests are still talking about it. It’s always nice to hear actually something pragmatic and useful, specifically your ideas on how maths and physics education are leading this transformation through solution-driven innovation. Your ideas certainly sparked a lively debate among all of those in attendance. I too believe that the next Einstein will be from Africa!”
