Many inventors in Africa work in secret and fear the weak justice system in protecting their work through Intellectual Property rights. Figures from the World Property Organization (WIPO) showed that in 2013, there were 351 international applications filed from South Africa. Morocco had 54 filings, and Nigeria and Kenya had seven each. Tet devices distributed in Africa. Africa accounted for less than 1 percent of global filings.
