Pierre Echard is a senior content specialist for NEF. He contributes policy and content-based research to the network’s strategic development efforts.
Pierre has been advising companies and organisations in Africa, Latin America and Europe on their sustainability initiatives for over 25 years. Following a B.Sc. in Rural Sociology from Cornell University (USA), and a Master in Management from ESSEC business school (France), he began his career coordinating environmental projects with NGOs and UN agencies until the early 2000’s. He subsequently returned to Europe to engage with multinational enterprises on Corporate Social Responsibility, and later moved onto supporting smaller businesses and public sector organisations implement social innovation and circular business models, launching in 2009 his sustainable design consultancy InnovaTerra. Pierre is also co-founder of the first Master’s degree in Design for Social Innovation in Belgium at the ESA Saint Luc Arts College in Brussels, and supports science engagement through the Next Einstein Forum in Africa and the Jet Propulsion Theatre, dedicated to science communication through theatre and artistic experiences.
