As part of the Vanderbilt-Zambia Network for Innovation in Global Health Technologies, scientist Dr. Priscilla Lumano-Mulenga works as part of a team that has developed a 3D printer designed to detect malaria early. Researchers in Zambia can simply print out the device, which is prototyped and designed at Vanderbilt and it will easily provide early detection. Dr. Lumano-Mulenga and her team wants to use a similar device to detect HIV and Ebola in the early stages.
